Princeton Styled Series: Morven Museum and Gardens
Nestled in the Princeton landscape, just a short walk from the University, a hidden gem provides endless landscapes and backgrounds for any bride’s dream wedding. Morven is a magical place sprawling with beautiful gardens, lush trees, and various landmark venues that span decades, each one finding its place among the property’s rich history. The newest of these venues is a quaint, modern ballroom featuring floor to ceiling windows overlooking the gardens and allowing the outdoors to come in.
College sweethearts often travel from far and wide to exchange nuptials where their love story began at Princeton. It all starts with a ring though. Where better to source the perfect engagement ring for your Princeton sweetheart than right in the heart of downtown? Hamilton Jewelers has been helping couples turn the page to their next chapter for years. I mean, how could any girl say no to the classic beauty of these timeless rings?
Every Princeton Bride requires an invitation suite that perfectly represents her unique style and depicts the couple’s personalized story. Kelmade Goods is a genius when it comes to custom calligraphy, romantic watercolors, and pretty little details that tell each bride’s story. Her dreamy representation of Morven is simply put, stunning.
The various gardens and backdrops throughout the property at Morven allow for any bride’s individual style to develop. The variation in landscape and represented time periods also allow for the same bride to have multiple wedding day looks. Thanks to Castle Couture Lindsey’s wedding day looks came to life, one more beautiful than the next. Each look complimented the landscape for which it was intended and the environment surrounding it from ceremony through reception, beginning with sweet romance and ending with modern glamour.
Lindsey’s hair and makeup was artfully done by the lovely ladies from Cosmo Bleu Salon. From the beginning of her experience to the end they were nothing short of amazing, sweet, and accommodating. They so perfectly captured the overall vision for the day.
The natural beauty of the Morven grounds are incredible. To bring that beauty into the new modern glass ballroom, Viburnum created a reflection of the gardens outside. Dancing vines accented with blooming roses in juxtaposition with the modern room and details created the perfect marriage of old and new. It truly became an extension of the outdoors.
Although we love the history and beauty of the estate and grounds, a little modern spin on tradition freshened the vibe of this garden wedding. Guests were greeted by a hanging boxwood display post-ceremony holding champagne glasses adorned with each individual escort card. When you are trying to start a party right, champagne wall. Am I right?
To follow through with the old and new, farmhouse tables dressed with industrial metal chairs from Adam’s Rentals were topped with romantic garden centerpieces and candlelight. The woo tables seemed to blend right into the room as if they were always there, leaving all of the spotlight on the beautiful blooms and candlelit ambiance.
The evening ended with on a perfectly sweet note with a wedding cake by Gingered Peach. The cake like many details throughout the evening featured hand brushed metallic detail and soft floral accents. And in case you were wondering, it was delicious.
